Hi All!
Word may not have hit the streets yet that we have a new blog carnival up & running, so this first installment are some of my favorite posts that I found throughout the week.
Remember, we will be doing the Carnival of Green Thinking every Monday, so be sure to get your fave posts submitted by Friday night to be included. We would love to share what else is going on in the realm of eco-friendly living.
NATURAL EATS
Laurel at Laurel On Health Food shares I recently bought some bee pollen and added it to my morning smoothie. It was really easy to incorporate and soft enough that I didn’t need to soak it before putting it in my blender. Time saver! Bee pollen, like all superfoods, is a complete source of nutrition. Here are a few of the amazing health benefits…
FARMING CITY STYLE
The Eastsider LA posted about a local urban farmer who started his garden with a neighbor in the median of their street. Lazaro Morales prefers to water and tend his Echo Park garden at night. Not only is it cooler but there’s less of a chance that he will get hit by car while watering his radishes and green beans….
LOVE THY NEIGHBOR
Dragon Ashes shared Wednesday is Good Deed Day with a ton of tips on where to go to click for charity. Today I am spreading good deed knowledge. Sure we all know we can volunteer our time or money or donate used items to charity, but did you know that you can spend a few minutes clicking links online for charity? If you did, kudos and here is your daily reminder to click!
BEAUTY REGIME GREENIFICATION
Andrea from Organic Authority shares Garden Your Way to Gorgeous Skin. This article stood out to me because I have diagnosed myself as a victim of 30-year old acne, but this is a great way to care for all skin types in a really sustainable way! In lieu of toxic beauty products, I tout my organic skincare as much as the next. But somehow the idea of growing your own bath & body apothecary appeals to my inner purist and little mad scientist, not to mention my oft frugal side.
EDGE-U-MA-KA-TION: THE GREEN WAY.
How could I do an inaugral Carnival of Green Thinking without including someone from…TA DA – Green Thinking Blog? Once we are up and running, we won’t be making a guest appearance, but I thought this topic was especially important for the young folks trooping off to college to make their own way in this world. Check out 3 Green Colleges to Promote Sustainably Living on Green Thinking Blog. The four years a person spends in college can be a very defining time for the way they will live the rest of their lives. Creating strong practices directly when they are set free from the parental nest is essential, so why not focus on a sustainable way of life…
That concludes the first ever Carnival of Green Thinking. We look forward to seeing what you have to share with the world next time.
